What is Stress?
Stress is the body’s physical or mental reactions to the extraordinary demands which are overwhelmed upon it by the environment. Stress is two types- good stress and bad stress. Good stress bears short term effects, it is temporary. It enriches performances and creativity. Bad stress bears effects over a period of body and mind and brings depression. Sometimes its effects subject to physical or mental disorder, sleeplessness, suicidal tendencies, etc.
Ultimately, stress is a state of mind that reflects certain biochemical reactions in the human body. The stress is created by desirable and successful events, is called 'eustress' and the stress created by undesirable outcomes, is known as 'distress'. Human beings need to cope with 'distress'.

Sources of Stress:
There are two types of sources:
i)Internal Stress:
It generally occurs when the external demands are above his/her capacity. He/she becomes worried about it and extra pressure comes upon him/her. For example A and B are two persons. A has a high sense of urgency of time but B does not have a high sense of urgency of time. For that A is always in stress regarding the completion of work in time but B is free of stress.
ii)External Stress:
This type of stress occurs from environmental effects. For example, it comes from friends, colleagues, family members, relationships, etc. Sometimes the climate and temperature may be the agent of mental stress.

Effects of Stress:
i)Effects on an Individual:
It brings the physical effects as an increase of blood pressure, less immunity power, weight loss or gain, insomnia, tiredness, etc. It also affects physically as less concentration, anxiety, being confused taking of bad decisions, increase fear, etc.
ii)Effects on Environment:
An individual's stress affects his family, workplace, and society.
a)Family: One's self-destructive motivation disturbs the calmness of his/her family environment, even it hampers the good relationships between the family members and sometimes helps to cause domestic violence.

b)Workplace: One person under stress becomes absentminded gradually and loses a positive attitude to work and doesn't be able to maintain regularity.
c)Society: Under stress, the person's unfriendly attitude affects the environment and interpersonal relationships in society.
How to Fight Against Stress:
i)Works according to priority: The multitasks would be divided according to their priority and the most prior and hard task would have to start first. Good planning and scheduling are required to reduce stress.
ii)Delegation of work: Always a person can delegate or share the work with coworkers or subordinates to minimize the stress of work.
iii)Laughter: The persons have to attain once a day in a humorous and comic environment which can evoke laughter and helps to reduce stress.

iv)Exercise: It brings the sound strength in health which helps him/ her to protect stress.
v)Good sleep: Good or deep sleep is the weapon to reduce stress. People have to choose the fixed time to go to bed and enjoy the relaxing time by reading books, listening to music which can bring sleep. It would be maintained regularly to reduce stress.
vi)Relaxation: Every person have to make the schedule of time for relaxation when he/ she can pass the time according to his/ her wish and that can help him/ her to pass the tension-free moments. The scheduled short breaks are required when people can relax and come back to work with full energy.

vii)Good food habits: Well balanced food and taking on time is the instrument to combat stress. The disorder of food habits can bring health problems and body weakness invites stress.

How to Avoid Stress?
i)Meditation: Meditation increases the concentration of mind. Concentration brings the spirit in body and mind. It also helps to grow energy in the nervous system and normalize the blood flow. It is the process through which we can avoid stress.

ii)Yoga: Yoga is another process to avoid stress. The people are enjoying their good results from ancient times. It improves blood circulation in the human body. This helps to revitalize the organs and helps to release the stress.

iii)Holistic Therapies: Under these therapies comes massage therapy, aromatherapy, reflexology therapy, nutrition therapy, etc. Message therapy helps to good blood circulation, sophisticated breathing, relax of muscles which help to reduce stress. Aromatherapy induces the therapy by oil which helps to make mind free and induce sleep. Reflexology makes good blood circulation, makes a better nervous system. Nutrition therapy learns how to eat balanced food on time and reduce stress.

Maintaining Work-Life balance to Reduce Stress:
Work-life balance means making a balance between working life and family life or personal life. This balancing makes him/her happy, energetic and efficient. Researchers have studied that the employees are at their best stage when they are satisfied and motivated at the workplace and as well as at home.
Importance of Work-Life Balance:
In the modern scenario, organizations are feeling the work-life balance and its importance related to the direct effect on the productivity of the organizations. For example- Hewlett Packard(HP) focuses to achieve the work-life balance in managers and employees. The company is maintaining two strategies-i) Assistance program related to the employees and ii) Assistance program related to Education. Both programs enhance the work environment and personal life. The company also provides an environment including the options of flexible time, sharing of job responsibilities, interchanging facilities, etc.
Spirituality and Stress Management:
The word 'spirituality' derives from the Latin word 'spiritus'- means 'breath'.Presently, the companies are practicing spirituality to their employees and managers. The practice of spirituality makes employees and managers confident and enables them to handle effectively stress. It also provides the strength to combat unexpected situations without panic. For example- Global Hospital and Research Center(GHRC) is popular for its quality services and patient care. It provides training, related to the practice of spirituality to the executives. The training includes meditation, stress management, self-managing quality and positive move towards health.
In conclusion, it is told that discipline of work and in personal life, maintain of the professional code of conducts, control over emotion can help to deal with stress. Practicing of yoga, meditation, pranayama etc. help to overcome stress. Good food habit, exercise, swimming, walking, sufficient rest make man or woman healthy and provide ability to handle the stress.
